Recently there has been a discussion about the compatibility of the Nikkor PC-E 24mm f/3.5D ED lens with the new D800. According to to a recent report by NikonRumors the PC-E 24mm lens cannot be used with shifting and tilting on the Nikon D800.

MegaPixel.co.il decided to check this issue with Nikon directly and so we turned this question to Mr. Lars Pettersson – product specialist,  Nikon Nordic – with whom (as you might remember) we recently had an interesting video interview. Mr. Pettersson gave us the following straight forward and succinct answer to this question:

That is not true. The PC-E24 works fine [with the D800], just as the other PC-E lenses do.

So here you have it – an official response from Nikon on this issue. Now, if only we could get such quick straight forward answers every time from all camera manufacturers.
