Leaf Credo: A New Line of Digital Back Platforms

Israeli Digital back manufacturer Leaf announced this morning on a new line of Medium Format Digital Camera Back Platform known as Credo. The new line will include large high resolution multi-touch screen, more advanced processors and and new user interface.

Leaf (now Mamiya Leaf) has been developing digital camera backs from the early 1990s. Their new line of camera backs includes several new features which will help professional photographers with their workflow and handling of the camera and include the following new features:

• A large (size was not specified at this point), high resolution (1.15 million dots), multi-touch screen with verification of focus and “tonal accuracy”.
• New, fast dual-core processor (for faster image viewing, focusing and editing).
• A new, simpler, touch oriented graphical user interface (GUI).
• New FireWire 800 and USB3 connections for faster RAW image transfers.

Leaf Credo 80 – new multi-touch screen

Sensors on the Credo line are more or less the same as the ones found on the existing Aptus-II line. There will be 3 different versions in the current Credo Line:

Pricing for the Leaf Credo 40 starts at € 14,995/$19,495. The Leaf Credo 60 is listed at €24,995/$32,495 and the Leaf Credo 80 for € 29,995/$38,995. Shipping is planned for June, 2012. More information can be found on the Mamiya Leaf website.
