MegaPixel.co.il team conducted a series of interviews during Photokina 2010. Due to overwhelming public request we decided to translate some of the Hebrew texts which go along with the video interviews for the sake of our English speaking audience.

During our time at Photokina 2010 we had a chance to interview many executives from almost every major camera/lens manufacturer. Most of the people we talked to were European while a small number came from the U.S. (such as the U.S. president of Pentax). Only on one occasion we had a chance to talk directly to a Japanese manager – during our interview with Sony.

We were surprised and pleased to meet and interview Takashi Yasuda – General Manager (AMC) at Sony Europe. We had a chance to pose some very interesting questions including: Is Sony planing Zeiss lenses for the NEX line, when should we expect a Translucent mirror based advanced camera model (there was a model on display at Photokina), what about firmware updates for the A900, are we going to see dedicated video lenses for the Alpha line (similar to the Panasonic 14-140 for example), how Sony looks at the future of compact cameras and more.
