Photokina 2010: Videos – Fotorobot – the Ultimate 3D Photo Tool

MegaPixel.co.il team conducted a series of interviews during Photokina 2010. Due to overwhelming public request we decided to translate some of the Hebrew texts which go along with the video interviews for the sake of our English speaking audience.

3D virtual product catalogs require skill and can be extremely time consuming especially for large projects. The Czech company Fotorobot developed a comprehensive solution for creating 3D animations of products starting from an automatic photo system based on a robotic camera, processing and finally creating a 3D rotatable image.

The company has several kinds of robots that can take pictures of products in different sizes (from sport shoes to sport cars) as well as rotating tabletops for capturing the product from 360 degrees automatically. In the large booth Fotorobot created in Photokina the company also demonstrated how the robot can take pictures of a live models – one of them seen in the picture below during makeup (picture: Iddo Genuth):

The MegaPixel team had a chance to talk to Fotorobot during Photokina and learn some more about its technology (due to the surrounding noise the sound in the video is less than ideal):
